One of the most common areas in our lives where most of us slack off, when things get busy, are our weight and health. As a Health Coach and brain tumor survivor (among other things) I know about some of the healthiest ways to eat and for the most part I practice what I preach but I slip too. I have to admit I’ve been working a lot lately and sitting too many hours; I’ve also slacked off on my routine a bit.
With the cold weather and the holidays coming I’ve put myself on project status (up the self care) and decided to get back in the gym and cut out some of the yucky stuff I’ve let creep into my diet over the summer.
How about you? How is your health? Are you tired all the time? When was the last time you had a physical? Have you had your vitamin D level checked? In the winter there is a lot less sunshine and when it gets cold outside most of us hibernate.
Are your clothes getting tight and you’re wondering………………
“What the hell am i going to wear this winter?”
Have you been stuck at a certain weight where you just don’t feel comfortable anymore and the number on the scale just keeps creeping up? Is it time for you to focus more on taking care of your body? Without our bodies where would we be? The answer is pretty obvious but some of us neglect it and take it for granted. Do you?
So what are you going to do?
“If you fail to plan you plan to fail”
Over the next few months I’m going to share my journey and give you the scoop on my favorite Self-Care tools so you can experience some of the benefits listed below:
- Have more energy
- Lose Weight
- Sleep Better
- Gain Clarity
- Decrease Cravings
- Experience more Joy
Of course it’s not just about the body I’m taking a holistic approach. Last month during the 21 Day Self Care Challenge I shared quite a few tools that will get you refocused or get you started on your journey.
Here are a couple tools to get you started.
- The first step to take is to clean out your pantry and refrigerator and to restock with items that are on your yes list. Some of the items I bought are in the picture above.
- Cook some healthy meals. I bought a tiny little crock pot for 2 because I’m single and I hate eating a lot of leftovers. This weekend I made a Neapolitan Smoothie (below) – (2 frozen bananas, 1 cup frozen strawberries, 1 1/2 tbs Cocoa 3/4 cup almond milk and a handful of kale), steel cut oatmeal in the crock pot and a black eyed pea dish in the crock pot. Check out the great cook book I found “Vegan Slow Cooking” by Kathy Hester.
In the process of transforming your body and your health your life gets healed. That’s where the magic happens and that’s why I do what I do. My mission and passion is to help others bounce back from life’s challenges and transform their lives. I’ll be here to support you when you are ready.
